We have past issues of many of our popular titles including Quilting Arts, Cloth Paper Scissors, Stitch, Belle Armoire, Altered Couture, and Somerset Memories on sale for just $2.00 an issue. This is truly a once in a store history sale. Just think of the collage possibilities!!!!

A day in the life of the Queen

Traveling...
Yesterday I was in New York City to watch my nephew (Jan's son), Chad Euler, receive his doctorate from Rockefeller University. Royal congratulations are in order - I am so proud of you Chad!

Opening Gifts...
These amazing Santos (Latin American folk art), that will soon be available for purchase, arrived today.

Modeling...
My new royal apron that I created while in Boston at the Sue Gillman trade show using Tim Holtz acrylic dabbers, Prima flowers, stamps and ribbons.
Reviewing art...
This piece was donated to the royal gallery, made by Bonnie Belk. Bonnie created this beautiful piece during the recent Cheryl Darrow workshop.
Imparting royal wisdom...
Showing a customer how the new Big Shot Sizzix machine works, using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die.
Pondering Life...
It's good to be queen.

March Madness (Part Two)

More from the Royal Card Buffet last Thursday...

The class was pretty quiet - not uncommon when there is a lot to digest (hee! hee!)

After a while, the studio looked like a food fight had broken out!!!

The Thursday group really ate it all up!

Up next... the final review!

March Madness (Part One)

Okay, I know it's been awhile...

Patti held her second Royal Buffet with her Thursday group (you'll know who you are). I was on the scene to take pictures!

This class was held at 10:30 in the morning and if there is one great benefit of our 14 foot windows, it is the bright morning light we have in the studio.

Of course, I need to learn how to use my camera to take advantage of the light. But you can see how beautiful the table looks.
I love the "Art to Go" labels on the food containers. The little boxes wrapped in ribbon start out empty but throughout the class Patti gives the participants embellishments and goodies to take home and add to their stash!

The Buffet is really satisfying (staying with the food theme here). Plenty of inks and coloring tools are available, as well as buttons, ribbons, stickers and card stock.
There was so much to offer that a second table was set up to accomodate the extra stamps, punches and stickles Patti wanted to serve.
Up next... the Buffet is open!

We are awash...

in color.

The box from Jenni Bowlin included Vintage Buttons in six colors and styles and Bingo Alpha Cards in four color combinations...

embellished butterflies in six colors and stick pins in six muted jewel tones.

Hero Arts sent us their "Mixed Accents." These are pearls and jewels in a variety of sizes within six colors themes.

We also restocked our collection of "color on one side, white on the inside" A2 cards from Memory Box (on the left) and their Soiree Collection for Spring 2010. (Pistachio, just up from the center, is the popular color this week!)

Coming up next...

New Stamps from Impression Obsession and Memory Box!

So many boxes, so little time...

It's really exciting around here when there are boxes to open...

Nearly a bookshelf of new technique books to inspire you.

Celebrate Your Creative Self, Pretty Little Things, Collage Unleashed, Delight in the Details are just a few of the titles we received!

The new Cloth Paper Scissors Studios issue is in.

Beautiful new colors of Smooch and Smooch Spritz...

And these lovely little embellishments from The Robin's Nest.

They come in Silver, Champagne, Clear, Black, Pearl and White. There are even raindrops - a package with clear "drops" in a variety of sizes.

I still haven't gotten to that box from Jenni Bowlin yet.

We're back...

in business again. Actually the store reopened on Friday. I think we've all had (and have) enough snow to last us a few years!

Here are some pictures from the Valentine's Cards class Patti taught before the storms:

The basis for the card class was the February Card of the Month kit from Basic Grey. Each participant received card stock, a 6x6 paper pack, embellishments, stickers and instructions to complete 12 cards.

Here are some of the finished cards...
